Greetings,
SCLL offers 2 options for players going into 7th and 8th grade:
1) SC Little League with parents as coaches
- More of a recreational league for players that want to keep playing, but aren't interested in playing in high school
- Play other little league teams in South Orange County
- No tournament play
- Parents are expected to pitch in with coaching, umpiring, etc.
2) SC Little League with non-parent coaches (former SCHS/college players)
- More of a competitive league
- Play other little league teams in South Orange County
- Tournament play
- Provide players a high-level coaching experience
- Emphasis is player development vs. wins/losses
- Prepare players for high school baseball
-Please note: Additional fees apply
Field Dimensions:
- 7th grade = 54/80 diamond
- 8th grade = 60/90 diamond
Calendar
Summer (July/August)
- Summer Break - No practice or games
Fall (September/October/November)
- This season is secondary to the players that play Fall sports
- Practice 2 nights a week (Days/time: TBD)
- Games: Sundays vs. 7th and 8th grade teams from South Orange County
- 2-3 baseball coaches run practices and games (parents do not run practices or games)
- Managers are allowed to bring a team into the SCLL system, but must play the little league assigned games.
- SCLL Registration Dates / Fee: TBD
Winter (December/January)
- Winter Break - No practice or games
Spring (February, March, April, May)
- Main Juniors season
- Practice 2 nights a week, until games start. 1 practice/week when games start
- Games are played in two leagues: SCLL Junior Division and Prep League
- Games played with 1 during the week
- 1 SCLL on Saturday
- 1 Prep League on Sunday
- 2-3 baseball coaches run practices and games (parents do not run practices or games)
